I agree that it makes a great storyline but the actor just isn’t a convicting Hannibal. Cant we put Anthony Hopkins in a time machine and then put him in this movie???

Very interesting, I think I’ll read the book. Being an extremely intelligent murderer like Hannibal Lecter is not something you really see commonly. It seems sad that he was blinded by rage by the death of his family, blinded so much that he would kill to try to stop it, but he just kept feeding the rage and kept doing it. The great thing about the character Hannibal Lecter was that you never know his reasons or true mind state. Giving him a back story just takes away that mystery, and gives him justification. Bad idea. He should be a cypher. if you’ve read Hannibal Rising there is actually not much reviled about him. Sure, we get to know what happens to him during childhood, but we never get REALLY close into his mind. I thought that was very well done of Thomas Harris, to still keep him something of an enigma even with the back story added to him. It keeps Hannibal unique.

I would highly recommend that you get a copy of the video for your viewing pleasure. Anyways, to answer your question, Clarice and hannibal became lovers in the end of the film Prior tot he free Lobotomy Lecter did on clarice`s boss before actually feeding her the sauteed brains , Flambe style. I read in wikipedia that the ending in hannibal book is different,clarice and lecter became lovers and escape to argentina,that ending is better,I hope harris will write the final book of lecter, I think ridley made the ending different in the movie because many americans don’t have idea where is argentina and also the book ending is not typical hollywood, I hope hto write a new book about hannibal, the final book
