Terrafugia flying car:
It will be innovative airplanes like this, that will capture the public’s imagination. Traditional pilots hate it because it threatens their preconceived notions about who should fly, and what an airplane should look like, and how they should operate. To them I say, get used to it, the common folk are coming to a sky near you, Making a plane that can turn into a car is great! It answers the age old question of general aviation of how to get anywhere after you land at a small municipal airport.
I agree with some of the points the interviewer says. He’s not only unenthusiastic and pessimistic, I get the sense that he’s a bit envious of the designer’s talent and ingenuity. This is the first concept I’ve seen that I’d say is the closest to being production ready. And while nearly $200,000 is a lot of money for a vehicle, it’s relatively cheap in the aircraft world. And as production increases, prices should decrease. I hope this innovative design will be a success. Best of Luck!
