Tsar Bomba largest atom bomb ever made:
Tsar Bomba literally “Tsar-bomb”, is the nickname for the RDS-220 hydrogen bomb (codenamed “Ivan” by its developers)—the largest, most powerful nuclear weapon ever detonated.
Tsar bomba was 50 megatons, it was misjudged as 57 megatons by the Americans but the Russians were happy with this so never corrected them on it. Many people have said this is a 1.6 megaton detonation. I have watched detonations in the 1 to 3 megaton range and they last on average less than 10-15 seconds before losing all luminosity. This clip is 45 seconds long and is still luminous when the clip ends, it is a high megaton range weapon at least on scale with castle bravo(15 megaton) or larger
Russian sources have stated its yield as 50 Mt. The fireball touched the ground, reached 10km high, and was seen 1,000 km away. The heat could have caused third degree burns at a distance of 100 km. The mushroom cloud was about 60 km high and 30–40 km wide. The explosion could be seen and felt in Finland, even breaking windows there. The seismic shock created by the detonation was measurable even on its third passage around the earth
