This is a great competition dance and its very famous all over US. It was first danced among the African american community but now has reached almost all the US people. Its mostly loved among youngsters who like to hang out for lindy social nights.

Best place for Lindy Social nights in OC , CA is on Friday nights in Atomic Ballroom. I never miss Swing on friday nights in Irvine. I lived like 5 minutes near to that place and it was easy for me hangout on friday nights. I miss my swing nights now since i am back in India

      The basic footwork is a series of simple steps that produce a back and forth or sideways motion. A schematic footwork would be as follows: starting with the right foot make a chasse to the right on counts 1,2 and 3. On 4, touch the left toe beside your right foot (alternatively, tapping the left toe in place, i.e., apart from the right foot, and/or making an upward jerk with the left hip). Then do the same from your left foot. The character of the dance is achieved through sensual hip and body movements. Turns may be added by either partner to add spice, or they may dance close together or farther apart, depending on their comfort levels with each other. Usually the male leads and the female follows. The dance is such that practice between two specific partners may yield better leading or following, through subtler communication.

   I call Bachata the dance of love because it has so much essence in it. It fills your heart with so much happiness that you would like to dance it throughout your life. Primary requirement to have great bachata experience is to get a partner who loves dancing with you. Who feels you are trustable person and feels comfortable with your holds. At times you need to dance pretty close and if the partner is not comfortable then it will become a spoil sport. Bachata at times work similar to Balboa from west coast. Balboa is related to swing and bachata to latin styles.

     My best bachata partner was a girl i used to dance regularly in US. She is from Honduras i don’t know why she likes me so much when ever bachata music plays she will be in lookout for me to dance with. Though we don’t know each other but the comfort level between us is so good that people keep admiring our moves. Bachata has more style to it than steps.
